2014 and the Future
I haven’t made a real post on my Tumblr yet (since I started a fresh), so here goes.
The start of my year is been an interesting one, and quite a big step in the right direction for me.
I never intended for a career in the arts, I always thought of it more as a hobby. Although I wouldn’t consider where I am right now to be a career as such.
My first major job of this year was a tour with some good friends of mine, Lonely The Brave and some new friends Fatherson. This was my first real experience of being on a full tour with a band and I loved every second. I just wish I could be out on the road 24/7. Hopefully it won’t be too long until the next one.
The second big step I took this year was quitting my day job, something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time. Unfortauntly I’m not the kind of person who can totally commit myself to two things at once, and I’ve been putting my photography and video work on the back burner and trying to concentrate on work for too long.
Quitting my job has meant a lot more time to focus on my own work.
In the time since I left, I’ve set up a video production company, Black | Mirror, with a good friend of mine and we now have a fair amount of work in the pipeline.
Not that this is intended to be some kind of motivational post, but I would suggest anyone who works and wants to do something more creative with their life to leave their job and focus 100% on it. Although I hold no responsibility for you running out of money and ending up living on the streets!
